There are few compromises to be made in Portugal, where you can enjoy first-world amenities and infrastructure, clean tap water, and temperate weather.
Portugal is the cheapest country in Western Europe, and you can live comfortably for around half of what you spend now.
Of course, the capital city of Lisbon is more expensive than the rest of the country, but once outside of it you’ll find that the bargains are considerable.
