I know I’d like to live in a country where I can be assured my kids will be safe from harm and can grow up feeling loved. If you feel like I do then these are the safest countries in the world.

Iceland has been near the top of the safest countries for several years. Not only does Iceland not take actively participate in worldwide conflicts, they also have the some of the fewest internal crimes in the world.
Maybe it has to do with the small population or the fact that Iceland is also one of the happiest countries in the world. Whatever the case, Iceland is definitely a safe country to live in.

Another European nation to make it to the list Denmark is a model of peace and prosperity. The country is full of culture and is a propagator of all art forms.
It also only spends 1.3% of its GDP on its defence budget which is one of the lowest in the world. When you have everything you need why would you want to fight right?

The Portuguese once set across the oceans to try and capture lands, but they’re now quite happy where they are. Maybe its the warm, sunny weather in Portugal that keeps the citizens of this country calm and happy. Portugal is also home to a stunning array of castles, forts, and incredible architecture.

This tiny European nation has already been a victim of several wars and would rather not go through that again. The country is also quite wealthy which could explain why the citizens are loving living in Austria.

New Zealand is home to some of the best natural landscapes in the world. The citizens of this wonderful nation are so in touch with nature which makes them forget most other woes.
The only real rivalry they have are on the sports pitches with their rugby, and cricket teams competing with the best in the world. You’d find it hard to find fault with this peaceful nation.
Slovenia
When you think of a European tour Slovenia doesn’t normally come to mind. You might think of Germany, France, or even Italy but not Slovenia.
