In Thailand, the scenery is jaw-dropping and all that ever stands between you and an engaging activity is a longboat ride. The people are friendly and welcoming, too.
There is a wide range of accommodation available, but there are no fixed prices for housing in Thailand, and an English-speaker is going to be charged more for the same unit.
It’s best to have a Thai-speaker go with you if possible to negotiate on your behalf. Overall, the cost of living is very reasonable.
